Shridhara
(floreció 750, en India).

Matemático hindú tenido en alta estima, quien escribió varios tratados sobre matemática india. Sus obras sobrevivientes son el Patiganita [Matemática de procedimientos] parcialmente conservado, el Ganitasara [Esencia de la matemática] y el Ganitapanchavimashi [La matemática en 25 versos]. El Patiganita consiste de reglas matemáticas en verso, sin demostraciones. La primera parte trata las operaciones aritméticas (como el cálculo de cuadrados, raíces cuadradas, cubos y raíces cúbicas), tanto para enteros como para fracciones y proporciones. La segunda parte presenta problemas mixtos y varias series antes de quedar interrumpido en medio de reglas sobre figuras planas. Compuso el Ganitasara y el Ganitapanchavimashi como epítomes de una obra mayor, la cual puede o puede no haber sido el Patiganita. Obtuvo las primeras fórmulas correctas en India para el volumen de una esfera y de un cono truncado.
